Splatoon 2 is unique shooter game that's kid-friendly and entertaining. Instead of competing to get the most kills, you compete to get the most turf covered with your color of ink. The characters are an adorable original species called "inklings", which are "part kid, part squid". The controls are easy to memorize. Unfortunately, multiplayer mode requires a paid subscription to Nintendo Switch Online. There is no local multiplayer (split screen mode, or multiple people playing on the same system). Overall, a fun game, unless you're unwilling to pay to get to the main point of the game. My sister and I were extremely disappointed with the lack of split-screen multiplayer. I think it's a scam and a money grab that you have to pay to play in the multiplayer mode. A great concept, but, sadly, was poorly executed.
