I have noticed several reviews from men hoping for more violence. However, as a woman, I was relieved I did not have to endure the pain of seeing violence against woman portrayed on film once again. Instead I felt hung in suspense that it might result to this, as the women deliberated their fate - to leave their oppressive and violent life in the colony or stay and fight the men once they return. All the while hoping the film would not lead to violence against these women. I am relieved that the brilliant Sarah Polly sensitivity avoided this outcome, whilst balancing the film masterfully on this tight-wire. Bravo 👏🏻 Sarah - as always, and bravo to the brilliant cast of women who acted their way through delicate and powerful subject matter with skill, ease, humanity and strength. Hats off.
