I'm a big Vampyr fan and also a very patient film watcher. I could not get through 20 min.. I can't stand modern day classic novel adaptions originally written around the 1800s. This movie claims to be an adaption, but I see no relation besides the character names. The main reason I couldn't continue is that Carmilla should be terrifying and act likes she's at least a few centuries old, not 18. A horror film with no scares has no right to the title. My secondary reason is the rom-com aspects over powered everything.. There's good rom-com movies out there, don't $%*& with horror! Romance is a normal character development trait, just to be clear not hatin' on that. The only reason The Prince of Darkness hasn't arisen and erased this cancer out of existence is that its not worth his time.. Hell I'm sure if the REAL Carmilla was resurrected I'd be terrified having anything to do with the production.
It's sad young tweens love this. Monsters that make these only care about your money, no lessons to be learned from watching these messy excuses of films. Look at Twilight. ZERO knowledge learned... For a real Vampire watch "Dracula 1992" (as close as a movie can get to the book). Or if you want a good laugh "What We Do In The Shadows." The latter film's budget was much less than The Carmilla Movie too..
Thank you, hope I shed some light on viewers.
