Amazing in every way. This show is entertaining, philosophical, heartwarming, and inspiring. The characters are lovable and admirable, but complex. The plots and story lines are amazing. This is a GREAT show that entertains while prompting you to examine the fate and failings, but also the potential, of humankind as we make our way in the world and also contemplate the existence of one or perhaps many species of intelligent aliens out there in the universe.
Whether you are fond of Star Trek TNG, The X-Files, Battlestar Galactica (the new one), The Highlander, Cowboy Bebop, Homeland, or Firefly, like I am, or whether you have never seen or appreciated any of those shows, you should check this out because it's totally worth your time.
The ensemble cast and the writing and set design are all great. Anchoring the immensely talented ensemble cast is Richard Dean Anderson of MacGuyver fame as Colonel Jack O'Neill - the leader of SG-1. His sarcastic, swash-buckling persona has richness and depth to it and brings a humor to the show that his castmates play off of really well.
I am having a lot of fun watching this series (on Amazon Prime). Like other exceptional sci-fi shows that reveal truth through entertainment and give us pause to examine ourselves, watching this show is not only fun, but it's making me a better person as it prompts me to reflect on human nature and human civilization and the direction of our world.
