The plot to this movie was unbearably slow. The shock factors of the movie arguably equate to the static electricity one feels after someone in socks touches their arm (and that's being generous). I wouldn't even count this movie as suspense, let alone horror. Honestly it was incredibly boring and so half-heartedly creepy.
To add to the bland of this film, the plot (what little there is of it) lacks any major climax from start to finish, with the exception of the small thrill of characters going missing. On the subject of characters, none possessed any real depth. We had our sobbing leading lady, her uncaring and selfish boyfriend, his friends (the jerk, the brains), and our Swedish cult hippie. No development, no growth, just flatlined personalities.
And, speaking as a musician, I frankly got sick of the constantly out of tune musicians and vocalists. I understand that this was meant to provide an ominous aura, but I just wanted it to stop. The multiple screaming scenes were really all the damage my ears could take.
