Though I enjoyed this movie greatly I found that one character in particular wasn’t given enough thought. When Taskmaster was introduced it felt more like a kitted out super soldier than comic book portrayal. Yes they had the shield, yeah she had Hawkeye’s bow and arrows, but it felt like a wasted opportunity for something better.
Taskmaster in comics has always been a force to be reckoned with, and even though they were incorporated fairly I could not stand the wasted potential for the character. The ability to mimic moves was not Taskmaster’s whole character, but merely their greatest strength. The comic book Taskmaster faced many heroes and learned from all of them, as far as I remember, Deadpool was one of the few who beat him regularly. So why only incorporate moves from Avengers? Because it fit the plot better than comic book Taskmaster.
This version in my opinion feels like a weak interpretation of the character, especially at the beginning, yet it flowed with the plot well.
It was an incredible movie and I commend the actresses and actors for their performances, but I just had a gripe over a good character.
Good Job Marvel!
