Excellent game on almost all levels for me. Story, gameplay, exceptionally beautiful environments.
The medley of real actors video capture blended with the gameplay was phenomenal giving the game so much character and uniqueness.
Actors' performance was stellar.
This game is thought-provoking, mind-bending and highly engaging. It got me so invested that
Gun play felt very good overall and the enemy variety was fine for me.
What I thought needed re-work was the charms - didn't have much of a variety and to me the impact of them wasn't such a big deal.
I had several occasions where the same charm dropped, namely the one that saves you from death but gets destroyed.
Another thing is the gun upgrade system, specifically for Saga. The system wasn't essential and you could easily get away without looking through every nook and cranny for those upgrade pieces of paper.
For a short while Alan's dark place looping again and again without much variety threw me out of the deep engagement. However, it wasn't to the point of turning the whole experience into a chore.
It would have been even greater if the loops had more significant shifts.
Bottom line:
Superb game! Will play it again for sure. Will I play it as many times as the first game, though? We'll see.
Last but not the least:
If you happen to be a rock/heavy metal fan who enjoys horror and thriller flicks, then this one is ABSOLUTELY made for you!
