This film completely demonizes the working class and pushes unfair stereotypes about the youth onto it's audience. Majority of teens, and working class families are not like this. It's unclear to me exactly why they had to make the kind, lovely couple completely middle class and then show ALL of the evil gang of teens and their awful parents as working class.
