I think this was 3 movies squished into one, the pacing is the problem with this movie, you don't have time to process what you are watching. They kept introducing new characters every 10 minutes so it just got more and more of a load to process. You have no emotional connection between the 2 main characters as they become friends almost instantly, there's no relationship growth, they already 100% trust each other from the start as if they have been friends for years. Half the time Rana gets the pieces of the gems with literally no effort, no chase scene nothing, easily snatched right from that elderly's hands. I feel this would be better across 3 different movies, the 1st being Raya's journey finding this Dragon and a subplot that wud help bond the 2 characters, the second movie being what this movie tried to do, locate all the pieces of the gem and unite all the tribes. for the 3rd and final movie, a good vs bad movie between ALL the tribes and a big bad, and maybe one of the main characters die, and now that we wud have a strong connection between the 2 characters, we would actually feel emotionally connected with the trilogy. I just feel there was just too much-wasted potential in this film, simply because it sucks at character building and its just extremely rushed and crammed. A trilogy wud greatly fix this problem. The only real good part of the movie was the effects and animation, and also the choreography, it is pretty clean in this movie but it is not enough to save an entire project like this. (this is all my opinion)
