As a Mexican born and raised, who has both heart and experiences stories very very similar to the one of Lydia and Luca, of the migrant sisters and the other migrants, I give this book FIVE STARS ✨✨✨✨✨
This book is as accurate as it can be. I was shocked by the precise detail of the characters and the plot development.
All those who criticize the author for being “white” and writing about another ethnicity and how she shouldn’t be allowed to do that…. The way that I see it is, if a “white” author is able to write about another ethnicity and be so precise in the elements of the culture, the history of the geography, etc THAT IS HONORABLE. That is being a good writers who, clearly, did lots of research.
