…I saw the film The Currrent War Saturday and found it a remarkable telling of one special period in the history of science and industry in America. If you have not seen it, and there is even a pinch of geek in your soul, you should see it. The places of creation and manufacturing are dark cathedrals, and Edison’s powerplant beneath the streets of New York is a steel/steam rendering of Dante’s underworld, but most of all it is about inventive mortals made technical giants wrestling with new powers.
