Excellent. Rowan Atkinson is magnificent in the title role. This series needs to be brought back by ITV who have missed a serious winner

Self-indulgent "lovey" rubbish. Emily Mortimer should be ashamed. A few nice settings / clothes but even its soundtrack & diction made village amateur dramatics look professional. Improved a little towards the end with the third episode but the subtle / not so subtle satire of Nancy M was lost in the shallowness of this production.
