I was present for the opening in Beaufort and instantly became a fan, of the previously unheard of Pat Conroy, and Actor Robert Duvall. This was a great human interest story (movie), which a lot of us from the mid forties can identify with. Pat and I were the same age and shared a lot of the same childhood memories, other than the situation with his father.
