Souryadipta Dasgupta

A classic American courtroom drama, which grips your attention right till the very end. The beauty of the film is that at the end, you don't actually think he's guilty, but you aren't convinced about the other side too.

The film is extremely biased in it's basic core. For instance, the initial scene where Ankit calls Meenal to apologise clearly shows Meenal's regret about what she did. She doesn't even ask Rajveer to apologise for touching her, because she knows that if you meet a guy and immediately follow him to a resort to have drinks together, it IS an indication that you are interested in him. However, in the "iconic" court scene, Deepak twists the facts in such a way that the judge ends up feeling sympathy for the girls. How many people can HONESTLY say that if the genders were reversed, the same verdict wiuld have been passed?

A progressive film which India needs more of.

Will not spoil it for anyone. The only thing I can say is that this film features a timeless theme, and is amazingly inspiring. Great performances from the actors, especially the legendary Mr. Utpal Dutt. Satyajit Ray's last masterpiece.

Managed to maintain it's suspense till the very end. Good usage of shots, and fabulous performances from each of the three lead actors. Some parts of the story often do not make sense, but the film as a whole makes up for it.

Truly a masterpiece by one of the behemoths of world cinema. The symbolism and humour mixed in this film is nothing short of sublime. Loved it!
