Meh.
There are so many mini monologues about women being empowered or not, that my brain hurt after seeing the film. It’s not silly or whisimical or fun. The costumes and set design and make up is perfect and the film will likely receive Oscar noms for costume and art design, but the storyline? Meh.
If the female director advocating for women really expected women to be empowered by a cultural shift, her initials would not follow her husband’s in the opening credit line announcing the production company for the film ie “a NB / GG Production”.
Get ready for a whole lot of history as to why women aren’t in more positions of power in the world and get depressed because of it.
