This is the first film I have ever watched that has left me speechless at the end. Speechless.
If you read the synopsis then forget any ideas of how this film pans out.
The first part of the film setting up the story was great, I was undoubtedly intrigued and couldn't wait to see how it panned out.... How disappointed I was going to be.
I have no idea what the director, who also wrote the film, was aiming for or what message he was trying to get across.
As some reviewers have pointed out, there are are no good guys, no hero's to save the day. No happy ending, Pikes characters demise was too good for her.
But the one aspect that really sticks in the back of my throat was 'beautiful and emotional' scenes the director reserved for Pikes and Gonzalezs characters, along with the tender emotional music, it was almost as if the director was venerating the two, awfully, dispicable characters.
It's a shame such great actors wasted their obvious talents in this film.
And I seriously question those that gave it more than a couple of stars.
