The story it’s self needed a lot of work. An old lady buying food for her cats doesn’t suddenly decide to ride with them and run over a random stranger in the middle of the night twice. The circus owner also just attacked and kicked a random dog that happened to be the protagonist. It made no sense at all. Then later the dog jumps off a cliff and through a moving train’s window without a scratch. The circus owner, apparently, expected this and wasn’t surprised whatsoever and resumes attacking the dog (Max). It doesn’t live up to the original that had heart felt moments that really helped show the different sides to the characters. This movie manages 3 plots in just 1 hour and 30 minutes, which made it lack overall quality and it felt rushed at moments. Rooster’s character also felt out of place. A person who has no kids to deal with has no business lecturing others of how they’re being over protective. Then again, why would he lecture a dog over the child’s upbringing? It’s not like Max can control the actions of his owner. I could go on about things that just didn’t make sense even for children show standards. Why didn’t anyone notice an escaped tiger in one of the most populated cities in the country? 😤 Why would the circus owner send wolves to catch a thief? They couldn’t just kill the person and take the tiger. The last thing I would like to note is that villains being associated with foreign accents is both unnecessary and type casting.
