As a long time fan of the MH video games, I went into this with pretty low expectations, especially considering the "parallel worlds" aspect. That being said, it did exceed my expectations. If you go in expecting anything other than cheesball action, you'll be disappointed. The plot is meh, but the action and cgi are pretty good for what was probably a pretty low budget flick. Where it really shines is in the depictions of the monsters. They really did a great job translating them from the game to the big screen. And Tony Jaa's hunter is rocking some gear that looks straight out of the game for a starting hunter. It really tickled my nastalgia.

The movie was, as expected, cheesy and violent. Didn't have the same vibe as the OG MK movie, but was definitely worth the watch.
