Buggy, repetitive, combat is broken down into, get the hammer, fully charge it and then dash to the enemies don't aggro, at all, literally. You can get killed in cut scenes if the bosses have ads/mobs that they spawn after you kill them, sending you back to the start of the level, camera control is terrible, huge frame drops and some enemies ranged attacks aren't very visible or clear, there are enemies attacks that look like the fairy going to mark an enemy, the ant level is the largest problem with this, there are levels where colours look washed out and it's hard to distinguish things.
At the same time this game has amazing visuals and a good combat system when it works, the difficulty is perfect, the updated enemy behaviours make the game have a challenging edge to them, I played this game from start to finish for about $20, I got a nostalgia trip, it feels good to see animation this clean and well functioning, weapon attacks and descriptions are fun as well as pleasing to look at, the game doesn't have copious amounts of visuals blaring in your face, but an easy to control character minus the camera, with a simple combat system and good rewards for doing completionist like objectives, simply great voice acting and a good music score to go with it, especially the merchant music, sure this game can be infuriating when it doesn't work, but if they ironed out those problems and maybe did a remake instead of a remaster, it would be much more enjoyable, would recommend playing it for a cheap investment into a neat story.
