Better than Dickens, probably my favorite show right now. Visually stunning, and the plot is so intricate. I like how it doesn't resort to overt sex and violence, forcing the show's draw to be how people interact and lots of subtle nuance and genuine feeling. I'm a huge horror / fringe cinema fan, so this is very left field for me but really left an impression. I'm watching it for the second time now and already discovering many new details I missed first time around.
