The animation is beautiful, and as much as I like the idea of having a new Star Trek series to watch, and the idea of having one based in comedy for a change, the dialog and scripting is so constantly obnoxious and cringeworthy I just can't get into it. I could barely stomach the first episode and I'm afraid to watch more in the hope that it might get better. There is no real plot to follow along with, it is just one mind numbing scene of pure insanity after another, which is the antithesis of what draws me to the Star Trek franchise. Having a comedy series of Star Trek is a fine idea, but nothing made me laugh here. It needs to be intelligent to be Star Trek and this is not.
