In my opinion it’s probably one of my favourite movies I’ve ever watched and I feel like all the hate it gets is extremely undeserved. And to all you 60 year old original trilogy purists out there reading this,I bet you that “the Empire Strikes Back” is your favourite Star Wars movie ever but “A New Hope” was the original Star Wars movie, not “the Empire Strikes Back”.You have to admit that some of the scenes were glorious like when we find out that Rey is the Granddaughter of Sheev Palpatine and when we hear Luke,Leia and even Hayden Christensen talk to Rey telling her that she is a Jedi is just amazing. And also when Rey force pulls the lightsaber to block Palpatine lightning and then grabs the one that Ben was holding to push the force lightning back onto Palpatine completely eradicated him once and for all and also destroying the throne of the Sith at the same time is just cinematic GOLD. And when kylo heals Rey and they smile at each other again you think they will live happily ever after but then kylo drops to the floor and dies and becomes a force ghost it was really emotional and you’re conflicted on what to feel in that moment because the resistance won but at a loss. This was Kylo’s trilogy. From the beginning you know that deep inside he was not a Sith Lord. In “the Force Awakens” when Ben meets Han and they exchange words, you know that Darth Vader would have sprinted forward and sliced Han in half. Palpatine was amazing and the fact that they got Ian Mcdiarmid to play Palpatine through the entire Skywalker Saga is amazing. And... It’s called the Skywalker Saga for a reason. In every trilogy, someone in the Skywalker bloodline brings balance to the force and destroys the Sith either temporarily or permanently. The fact that people are picking apart the end of one of (if not THE) biggest franchises on Earth. And the fact that some people are describing it as the “letdowniest of all letdowns” is disappointing. This is Star Wars at its finest and I don’t think there could have been a better way to finish of my favourite series in a galaxy...far...far...away
