Magnificent portrayal of the Armenian genocide. I did not know about this event until I made friends with a first generation Armenian. He spoke of the atrocities with such knowledge and horror. The Promise coveys the terror and courage of the Armenian people. Once again, we can experience man’s inhumanity to man. Perhaps by seeing it close up, we can endeavor to value kindness and compassion for all peoples. All of the actors gave realistic and nuanced performances.
