It was OK but it left too much out and it glossed over too much.

A very enjoyable watch with some laugh out loud moments. I am a massive fan of both Olivia Coleman and Jessie Buckley and of course the fantastic Timothy Spall. It seems funny that most of the people who have given this film negative reviews are men. It's not a particularly deep film and it doesn't deserve an Oscar but it is very entertaining and I for one would watch it again

I loved this film. The original is one of my favourite films and I was worried that making it a musical would detract from the story.....nit a bit of it. The songs were excellent....I particularly loved the dance numbers. All the characters were superb. So glad I went to see it

Anthony Hopkins is an extraordinary actor and I cannot think of any other actor who could have played the part so well. Every single actor in the film is superb. It is a story of immense emotion....I dare anybody not to cry. The scenes where he meets up with some of the adults he saved as children were wonderfully underplayed and all the more amazingly touching for it. Go and see this film....it is so worth 5 stars.

Enjoyed the film and loved the fact that it is based on a true story which saved it from being formulaic. Good acting but not sure SB deserved an Oscar. Felt a little bit rushed at times.

What a delightful film....well, except perhaps for the dubbing of Poitier when he's singing. Made me smile and the relationship between Schmidt and the Sisters was a joy to watch

Amazing film which still feels relevant today. Even though I knew the ending, the suspense just kept on building. Such a clever plot and the acting was superb. I'm glad it was made in black and white......it really suits the atmosphere. Fonda brilliant and totally believable. One of the truly great films

Brilliant film. I love everything starring Sidney Poitier and he is once again superb in this, as is Rod Steiger.

What a gorgeous, gorgeous film. Nobody does repressed like Hopkins. I hope that when he is gone, that he is truly appreciated for the magnificent actor that he is. How has he only won 2 Oscars to date? He deserves far more. Winger is also superb in this tearjerker of a film. I totally believed in their love and the lad that played Douglas was heartbreaking at the end. So loved that it was a true story.....it gives the film the gravitas it deserves.

Wow.....bleak but powerful. As always Loach gets tremendous performances from unknowns with very little or no acting experience. The scenes with the kestrel are heartbreakingly beautiful. Even though the film is over 50 years old, it's story still holds true and the washed out colours typical of films made in the 60s feels just right in Kes. Beautiful film.
