I grew up watching the original West Side Story with my father so I had high expectations. The characters were great, the music and singing was amazing but I didn't love the changes Steven Spielburg did. He changed around some scenes which confused me. When Tony and Riff were fighting, that took me off guard. Riff is supposed to be there for Tony through anything and visa versa. Tony and Maria's beginning was too confusing. They just jumped straight into it. It was missing something. However, Tony and Maria's voice were spot on. If I closed my eyes, they sounded like the original cast. Amazing job Rachel Zegler! Overall, not terrible but I wouldn't watch it again. However I am quite biased.
