Quite the social history tackling class divides, women in the workplace, homosexuality, venereal disease etc.. I believe it was transposed to the late 1940s. Ration books, radios and many other items and words which are no longer common place prompted many questions from a young 33 year old special needs man who is a Pokemon enthusiast but asks to watch this series on Acorn TV.
