Pros: Music and cinematography are beautiful.
Cons: Almost all the characters were initially unlikeable or not interesting to me. This sentiment didn't change as the show progressed, as much of the conflict and motivation throughout the season -though well acted by a strong cast- felt exceedingly weighed down by the social commentary that lies in the subtext of each and every interaction. The commentary itself isn't necessarily bad, but it is so heavy-handed in approach that it feels much more developed than any of the actual characters on the show by the time the season ends. Other reviews tout this 'subtle' and 'sublime' character development as the strong point of the show, so it may be a matter of taste. Just didn't sit right with me.
