I never played the originals but compared to the Pokémon games of the past few years this is very weak. I'm not a big fan of the overworked art style but I can appreciate it. Everything just seems so slow though, the text speed, the running, the animations to start a battle etc. Not a bad game but certainly the worst of the 3DS/ Switch era Pokémon games.
