This was horrible. I just downloaded it for free off the Epic Store and was excited to play this game because it is from the creators of Myst. Myst was known for being the first game to utilize rendering graphics for a video game on the pc. Back then that was a very big accomplishment and the game design and technology lent itself to a point-and-click exploration game. I was too young to experience Myst when I was young so I truly was looking forward to experiencing a professionally made game but what a disaster. I only lasted for twenty-five minutes and here's why:
1. The storytelling in the first few minutes seems to really catch your eye and make things interesting but right after the pace is slow. The holographic displays are a lazy form of storytelling and there are more than a handful placed throughout the first section of the game.
2.Poor pacing, level design, tutorial, UI. There is no real incentive to continue doing anything in this game. I had to turn on hints but even then they don't work properly. You have to stand still and they start to move but it should be like in Uncharted or in Bioshock that they glisten to catch your eye.
3. Look, this just wasn't the experience I was hoping for. I am disappointed. I thought after all these years the creators would have learned about proper game design and storytelling. It is apparent they haven't gotten with the times and don't understand what people are looking for these days. There is one positive aspect which is the graphics are because of the Unreal Engine.
