The Stand is all about the journey to Colorado and Vegas, that is how and why you get to know, love and hate the characters, and sets up the climatic ending.
The way they edited the TV series ruins all character development and makes us not care for any of them. The characters are just introduced and then killed off, have little screen time, and we do not know their motivations.
I would be surprised if anyone could follow this train wreck if they haven’t read the book first. Does the viewer even understand the plot, character motivations, or even remember characters from episode to episode? What a waste of an amazing cast and my time. This could have been an amazing multi-year series.
Do 10 episodes per year for 3 to 5 years, dig into the characters and their journeys across a dystopian America as King did in the book and you might have had a mega hit! The way it’s done here is a complete failure, I’m very disappointed. Don’t waste your time, go get the book, it won’t let you down!
