Having never seen the original 1985 version, this stands up as a good film. The casting was great (David Tennant as the Las Vegas Vampire hunter was a BIG surprise but a welcome and funny one at that) and everyone performed their roles to a T. The dialogue was funny in places but less funny than the screenwriter probably thought everywhere else but the action and predatory nature of the vampire next door managed to just about make up for it. Honestly, a pretty good movie that was apparently good enough that my friends wanted a play-by-play description over text lol. Definitely worth a watch.
