This is what we in the business call a joyless cash grab. A jump-the-shark fiasco from the start, this film in its entirely is a 'woke activists' wet dream and everybody else's senseless droll. The blatant placating to the woke audience is almost as insulting as it lifeless. Camila is distracting as she can't sing outside of her own nose and she can't act. Why she was picked to play this part can only be boiled down to the sheer fact that the producers knew that this film needed a 'star studded cast' to even try to promote this garbage film and make any sort of return on it. the use of already popular songs instead of writing original material to keep that disney magic alive was a horrible and distracting decision. Especially since not one of the singers in the cast was able to pull off even the simplest songs. Making the fairy godmother a super annoying and flamboyant mockery was an abolutely HORRID decision. Billy Porter is hugely problematic all his own and the LGBTQ community refuses to even claim him. If i see a gay character portrayed like this one more time I am going to throw up. Not all gay people are stereotypical and over the top like this. This film was supposed to be set in the olden times and yet was written to be modern, which is just plain confusing. Overall, this film requires a certain audience in order to be able to stomach it. You either need to be a child who doesn't know any better, or someone with absolutely no taste and not a single thought behind your eyes. Absolute trash.
