I never at any point believed in any of the characters. Did the director believe that dressing them in beautiful clothes would endear them all to us somehow? There was little or no development of the characters and not reason to take any of them seriously. Even the very first scene, when the old man in the office edits a submission in less than one minute, was risible. I am not full qualified to comment because I left about half way through, out of sheer boredom.
