I loved the show, and it certainly tugs on the heart strings. However, it seemed rushed in some parts. Some of the metaphors are a bit forced. Sometimes where there should be a subtle "ah this could be referencing that other part earlier", the character just explains it plainly and it sort of ruins the moment. Writers should have more faith that the audience is capable of putting 2+2 together. Apart from that, I enjoyed it immensely!

It's amazing and I can't wait for season 2!

I put off watching this for years because I thought it was just a kids show. Boy was I wrong! The writing is excellent. The story is engaging. The voice acting is great. I was hooked after the first few episodes. It made me laugh, made me cry, and taught me some lessons, even though I'm in my 30s. If you haven't seen it, go watch it.

Mildy entertaining, but it's so far removed from the expected story that it falls into the realm of almost fan art. The voice acting is poor. The story is weak. The action is predictable. I forced myself to get through it. 1* but an extra * because there was at least some sort of story.

A promising premise, ruined by fantastical action that seems totally disconnected from the genuinely intriguing story and history. The last couple of episodes make little to no sense. The action is rushed, the enemies suddenly decide to become allies for no reason, none of the magic is explained, the main enemy has no backstory. Its all quite ridiculous. It could have been so much more, but ends up a generic anime that probably won't be remembered.
