Frederick Mendus (The Heretick)

This movie drags. Greg Kinnear is pretty much the bright spot. Just not very good.

Kubrick's only flop. Beautiful cinematography, horrible script. Slow, vapid. The duel has the Kubrick feel, that's about it. Only for completists.

WW II coming of age movie. Jamie, stuck in an internment camp experiences the full gamut of human emotions. Standout performers, well made.

Of course the first Predator is unparalleled, however..... 2 has a great ensemble cast - Glover, Busey, Blades, Maria Conchita-Alonzo, plus various character actors. Bill Paxton does Bill Paxton, and Glover does his best Murtaugh/Riggs impression. Formulaic, but I've watched it more than once.

Insightful premise, good photography, lame plot, poor dialogue. A movie that starts well but quickly devolves into incoherency. Some relevant touches such as digital id, gross class inequality, and the privilege of great wealth. Poorly done Bladerunner knockoff.

Offbeat surreal morality tale.
