The sad thing is this really could’ve been good! The plot is good, the acting is good but the storyline is almost comically, contrived. The judge, who is supposed to be trying to keep his son safe, goes out of his way to make stupid decisions instead of the normal responses that would actually work. He sets up an elaborate ruse, actually visiting his dead wife’s grave, bringing flowers and cards to leave on the grave the day after the anniversary of her death in order to give his son a credible alibi for the day before. Then when his mother-in-law says she visited the grave the evening of the anniversary and there was nothing there, he immediately fesses up to a lie which blows the entire alibi. Logically, he would’ve just said he didn’t know what happened to the flowers and cards. They easily could’ve been stolen or picked up by the groundskeeper. This is just one of several stupid things that happen in this show. Earlier, again… he set up this elaborate ruse in order to get rid of the car his son used in the accident but then blows up his ruse by telling his detective friend his car was stolen which leads to the arrest of the kid that was hired to dispose of his car for him. He just volunteered that out of the blue for no reason at all other than to affect an unbelievable, contrived plot twist. I’m surprised such a talented actor signed onto this really bad script.
