I love the show, it has great acting, but at times I really dislike the character given to Anne. She is totally egocentric, and self-absorbed to the point of being selfish. After begging to stay, I never see her do anything to help. I really don’t see why hard-working Marrila would be attracted to such a lazy child. The portrayal of an imaginative girl is accurate, but this Anne is shown as overly and overtly sensitive, eccentric to the point of creepiness. She is someone it would be exhausting to live with. The Anne of the Novels is charming. This one Is often not.
