If I had to pick my favorite superheroes, they would hail from the DCEU or Warner Bros owned properties.
But something has to be said for the consistency of Disney/ Marvel’s ability to retain each actor who they enlist to initially portray one of their comic book heroes in the MCEU. The level of commitment Disney/ Marvel has with their performers translates into the audience's approval of each actor who interprets these characters who were at one point (due to the lack of technology) difficult to bring to the big screen.
Thankfully technology has given us not only a glimpse into these mythological characters respected lives, but they have been given trinities and arcs that transports each fan into a world we are able to escape to and not feel any sense of regret.
Recently I visited a local theater to treat myself to what I would describe as the best superhero movie of all time, Spider-Man No Way Home. This transcends DCEU and MCEU. The inclusion of this generation's Spider-Man, along with Tobey McGuire’s and Adrew Garfield’s Spider-Men was nothing short of genius. There is nostalgia that will take us back to Tobey McGuire’s Spider Man who is able to shoot webs through his wrists organically without the use of external technology like that of Andrew and Tom’s Spider-Men. Subtle nuances like these that are placed in the movie’s storyline is a testament of the aforementioned commitment Disney/ Marvel demonstrates with their actors and characters. Without giving anything away, the team up of these three iterations of Spider-Man is cinematic perfection. Tobey and Andrew give very emotional performances in this production. Every post Spider-Man offer that is made to these gentlemen in terms of acting work is definitely deserved. For anyone who indulges in the occasional escape superhero movies transports us to, you will not regret the journey you are taken on while sitting in the seats of the movie theater viewing this production.
