This show is brilliant from every angle. The writers, director and cast are doing an amazing job, capturing the cultural background of the times, the interaction between the disciples with their very different personalities, the Jewish leaders and their reactions to Jesus and what he's doing, and the Roman occupation and what that means for the people living under their domination. Jonathan Roumie has a difficult role to play as Jesus, but listening to his own story, his personal walk with Jesus seems to be enabling him to portray Jesus in a very respectful, convincing and honoring way.
I love the humour, the drama and the subtle way the writers have of giving hints as to the pre-existence of Jesus - his existence before he was born as a man. I also really like the unique way that the writers tie different Biblical stories together.
I highly recommend the whole series and can't wait for the next season to begin.
