The movie didn't turn out the Cinematic wonder I was expecting. Maybe I set the bar to high for an adpted movie.
Yes, the movie had a really captivating story line.
The cast was top notch, as usual with Leonardo bringing his 'A' game. Mollie's blank expressions were perfect. You could swear that W. Hale was a Saint, Rob embodied that character
A few flaws I noticed:
In trying to perfect the sequence of events, and fit it into a 3 hour movie, some details may have been lost on the audience. For instance, one could easily miss the birth of Cowboy and Elizabeth Burkhaust. Their emergence seem to leave the audience to guess how long must have passed and the time difference between the murders could easily be miscalculated. The passing of the years did not also show on the outlook of the Characters, it didn't look like they had aged a day.
Another glaring error happened at the scene of Minnie funeral where Mollie was speaking to Lizzie Q. Lizzie Q asked Mollie to go and fetch Anna her beloved daughter. The frame shot from the Camera behind Mollie showed that she was already standing up to leave. But when the frame switched to Camera facing her, she was still kneeling there it took a second for Mollie to start moving to stand. I think whoever edited the scenes missed that.
In all it is always a delight to see actors bring on their 'A' game.
