What a disaster! Do yourselves a favour and don't suffer through this utter nonsense. Even the one star rating is generous. I had decided to watch the series solely because of Keira Knightley but even she cannot save a plot so determinedly destined to doom. In fact, along with everyone else in the cast, frankly, she too comes across as annoying. But seriously, with a plot so threadbare, with dialogues and scenes so ridiculous, what can an actor do?! The series starts well- there's some degree of initial promise- but, by the third episode, it free falls into an abyss of meaninglessness. It tries to be oh-so-cool by checking all the boxes that producers think makes a show a big hit these days, but the result is an utter absence of logic. They try to be funny, thrilling, woke, even Christmassy- all at the same time, but end up being none at all.

I really enjoyed the first few episodes. Seemed so warm, feel good, happy. Loved watching the animals and the beautiful landscape. However, I lost interest after I learnt that it is based on actual non-fiction books. This is because the series takes way too many liberties with historical accuracy. After the initial few episodes. the characters' accents become much more pronounced- which is of course more authentic but why weren't they there from the opening itself? The show becomes too unbelievable. I wonder in which world women had as much independence in the 1930s as they show here. Especially unbelievable is the dynamic between the housekeeper and the employer. I believe that, if a show is presenting itself as historical, then at least some efforts need to be maintained to maintain historical accuracy. I gave up midway because it is way too anachronistic for my taste.

What is wrong with Hansal Mehta? I cannot believe that the director who made a film like 'Aligarh' is capable of churning out garbage of this level. Please stop making films. Accept you have run out of steam, and stop! The film actually started well. I was quite enjoying the authenticity of the British landscape, accent and the effort put into getting local cast. It gave me false hope- I guess that's what makes me so angry. Halfway through, things start going downhill. And it snowballs down the slope into a ditch from where there's no possibility of rescue. I cannot believe that someone can write this bad a story. The dialogues start becoming ridiculous midway through the film. The scenes of conflict are so incredibly bad. Any semblance of logic entirely vanishes. Kareena does a good job with her role. But with this bad a plot, there's only so much an actor can do. If directors like Mehta start making such garbage films, it makes me lose entirely all faith in Hindi film industry. So utterly disappointing!

A very different vibe in comparison to the US version. I came to the show having watched, rewatched and loved the US Office. So it was wonderful to see where it all began. This show takes a very dark direction- it's classic British humour. The cringe level is much higher. It's much, much more hard-hitting. Awkward, uncomfortable, brilliant. This is no feel-good mood-uplifting comedy. Very intelligent, very clever writing. Always a fan of Ricky Gervais, he never disappoints.

What a bad film! Such a disaster! I could give a 100 reasons, but let's stick to 10. 1. Rajkumar Rao, after his botox, seems to have lost his facial expressions. It's so saddening to witness him becoming a sellout. 2. Terrible dialogues meant for cheap laughs. 3. Ridiculous, pointless cameos. What is this stupid multiverse/crossover nonsense? 4. Threadbare plot. 5. Forced contrived laughs. 6. Does not grip attention at all. 7. Stolen ideas from all across Hollywood- Game of Thrones, Stranger Things, Harry Potter- you name it and they have stolen it. 8. Embarrassing VFX. 9. Zero horror- they seem to have traded any genuine attempt at horror for silly unfunny jokes. You don't even have jumpscares. 10. The powerful social message of the first film is entirely lost here. I am so disappointed. Why would they ruin a wonderful film by a terrible sequel? The fact that it is the highest grossing Indian film ever only goes to prove the terrible taste of our audience.

It's yet another film that relies on visual trickery rather than good writing. The abysmal plot is the major letdown here. Such bad writing! The dialogues are terrible. So is the overall story- too many ideas packed into one film, so much so that nothing is explored at length. The film jumps from one crisis to another without adding any depth to the characters. The only good thing about the film? Nicole Kidman! I'll watch the trashiest of trash films for her.
