As a great fan of the Originals and an ok fan of the Vampire Diaries, this show was not what I expected. So much potential, so many great character arcs just run into the ground. No exploration or anything of the sort. We get that the Salvatore boarding school is a magical community. But it can't be the only one out there. And I for one was watching this show hoping for some connection to other schools and communities. Also there seems to be no clear continuation from Originals. I mean Klaus and Elijah Mikaelson are dead. The Mikaelson family is basically a name with no one in it. Where are the preys who would try to fill the void created by the ending of the Original Family? This show has potential. But Julie Plec really needs to up her game in Season 2 because season 1 was not good. It was subpar. There's a lot of great characters who are sidelined for Hope. Always for Hope. And the character of Hope couldn't carry the series to save her life. So please fix this series. The Malevore storyline is a bomb. The revolving villain routine might work for the Arrowverse but it falls flat in a universe with so much world building already done and so much to pull from. There's so many other things to pick from. Like the ongoing war between witches, werewolves and vampires in the rest of the magical community. How there always seems to be some sinister alliance between a few of these parties in order to rule the magical community. I mean there's just a thousand different story arcs this show could take that would be enormously better than the rubbish they've put in season one. #SaveOurLegacies.
