Let me say first that I am a huge fan of Greta Van Fleet! I absolutely love From The Fires, Anthem of The Peaceful Army, and TBAGG (😅) is in my opinion a masterpiece. I was excited for Starcatcher but unfortunately it has been a let down. I just can’t get into it. It’s a bit too out there for me, Meeting The Master is good but I still find it coming too close to religion for my taste. The album doesn’t give me the rock n roll vibes I’ve come to expect from them.

I really loved this book. While it is a work of fiction, it gave me an insight into the life of migrants south of the border that I may not otherwise have found. Many people are criticizing this book for certain in accuracies and exaggerations, or because a white woman is the author. Please! Get over yourselves. The importance of this book is that it helps others have an idea of the desperate situations some migrants are fleeing and the immense risks they are willing to take in order to find a better life in El Norte. In a time when the far right would demonize migrants and separate families from one another, it couldn’t be more important for a tool like this book to help sew empathy and understanding into our society. This book should be taught in high schools nationwide in my opinion. Read it!
