It's a great book for beginners. It has a lot of information on what course/ career you want to go in. It shows you all that you need to know about microbes, how they interact with different creatures and different climates. It also talks about lab skills and lab experiments and all kinds of things like viruses, bacteria, fungi etc.
overall it's a great book for beginners and studies.
