When I first started, I read a lot of criticism about the shot. The side characters having minimal development. No subplots. A two-dimensional Rob. But I think the show addresses these points. Rob is a selfish person who refuses to listen to her friends' problems. Her focus is on herself and herself as a victim. Since the show is told through her point of view, her friends being two-dimensional figures who only support her makes sense – that's how she sees them. They may have great backstories, and it would be great if there was a second season examining them when she works to be kinder and more attentive to others, but in the first season, it seems fitting to her character. I don't agree that Rob is portrayed as two-dimensional, but she may appear that way since she's trying to play the victim and hide her flaws and mistakes. Her refusal to acknowledge her mistakes to the point where they surface only when addressed by other characters shows how tainted her view is and how she's only showing one facet of herself and personality. In my opinion, all of the "bad" aspects of the show are intentional because they work to prove the main point – Rob's relationships fail because she's selfish, and a successful one requires her to focus on her partner as well.
