Awesome show, and great show telling of this story! I like the dynamic of the constant characters and the passer-thrus, and how those that are just part of a scene have and show great meaning in their roles, like John Brown's son Frederick, and Sibonia, and the importance of her conversation with the preacher. Not to mention, the witty comments amongst the family, tied into quoting Bible scripture, turns this show into an undercover comedy.
Also, how the subject name of the scene points to the importance of the scene, so one can understand where the story is going, and what to pay attention to.
I also love how one doesn't know and can't guess what's going to happen next, all the while this show has me on the edge of my seat wondering what is about to happen next, and rooting for "THE OLD MAN'S ARMY."
The actors all do a great job performing, making it all look real and seem believable, for that time and what was going on.
I think the real John Brown would love the show.
Kudos to the Hawke's, and Blumhouse!
