Great overview of the social determinants of health. Good for health policy and courses exploring health and society. Be warned that he has some strong opinions (very socialist) and supports them in all of his chapters. He makes an effort to be balanced, but it is not as neutral as it possibly could be. However, with the correct teacher, this could be a benefit as it opens the floor to differing viewpoints. A great introductory book to the many social determinants of health. Will definitely be using for the duration of my degree and hopefully for my masters.
