THIS MOVIE IS A MUST WATCH!!!!!! This movie is so awesome. A perfect mix of reality and fantasy. Its not too depressing but the most important thing it tells us is that to solve problems with a smile. No matter how hard it is. I love this movie. Its so great. Specially the mother, she let's her children to make their own choices s. Her responsibilities as a single mother were sure hard bit she moved on with a smile. Perspective change with the children too. They grew up to be totally different from each other and choose their own path. THIS MOVIE IS GREAT!!!

This is a great movie. I feel a weird saying "I loved this movie." Its so sad. I've read about the WW 2. And i t would have been so hard for everyone. This movie beings out the reality of people, it shows that what is needed the most is the support of someone. The continuous air raids made life a hella hard for the siblings. The cruelty the guy suffered from. The pain of losing their mother and later their father was depressing. Their situation got nothing but escalated every day. I watched the movie with almost no tear but soon as the girl, Setsuko died, I couldn't hold my tears back. I literally cried for a long time. Well....to recommend this movie is gonna be too hard for the ones with soft heart. I started watching at night and as soon as Seita threw the fire stick on the box where Setsuko was kept, I couldn't watch further. I started crying and watched the rest movie the other day. So u need to be strong heart prepared to watch this movie.
