I really wanted to like this game and while a couple of the enemies and abilities can be fun, this game severely lacks the replayability that other, far more simple rogue-likes have nailed in the past (Binding of Isaac, Hades, Stardew Valley, etc). I'm okay with the mechanics but the gameplay as a storyline is truly lackluster outside of the fringe psychological sci-fi fan crowd that gladly reduces such a potentially vast and wonderful setting into a mirror for the hUmAn MiNd. This trend can be seen in at least 4 episodes of Love, Death, and Robots. It's been the theme of countless new projects and seems to prove itself a waste of time AND space, pun intended.
I rated this game 1 star to contrast all the raving 5 star reviews from people who judge games simply for their graphics and online reception. I hadn't read any reviews prior to leaving this, but think it deserves a few stars knocked off overall for not being fun at it's core, even from a psychological standpoint. This is a full priced video game, and as such I expected to enjoy more than the introductory hours. Instead this game has given a consistently dwindling incentive to return to it, despite it's namesake.
Update: 80 hours in and the story just gets more boring as you go. What a convenient form of therapy for this fictional future astronaut. If only they were written as someone relatable or interesting.
