I saw this movie first in high school- early 80's in a Film Study class. We examined Hitchcock's techniques which was and still is considered ahead of its time. The music, lighting, camera angles, symbolism, etc..... He knew how to make a scary movie without having to use gratuitous blood, guts and violence. Interesting trivia: The "blood" that went down the shower drain was not red but black as the red did not show up dark enough in a B&W film.
